Esporles

Esporles is situated north west of Palma in a valley of the Tramuntana.
Esporles is for peace-seekers and tourists who like hiking, ideal. Palma de Mallorca is only 9 km and it is fast on the best beaches and golf courses.
A very tranquil and peaceful village, which awakens when the weekly market on the square Saturday.
Many tourists drive through the village in order to arrive at the famous open-air museum of La Granja, the estate of the historic mansion located in a valley above the village, has impressive gardens, which presented the malloquinische needle like.

History

In ancient times, the inhabitants of Esporles the horrors of nobility. In the peasant revolts in 1450 and 1520 while they were ahead and plundered the estates of the environment. 1523 were due to the execution of the half of the population. Also in the Spanish Civil War in 1936 was one of the few spots in Majorca Esporles who attacked the military coup against the weapons.
