The area around Valldemossa, with its almond trees, olive trees, forests and mountains, with its hiking trails invite to walks.
History
The name of Valldemossa was probably derived from the Moorish rulers of Musa Wali.
King Jaume II in 1309 lived in the monastery, built on the ruins of a Moorish fortress. A palace was later donated it to the Carthusian and 1399. The last reconstruction was in the 17th and 18 Century. Until 1835, the monks lived in this monastery, after which it passed into private ownership.
