Sencelles

Sencelles is located in the center of the island landscape in the area of planning. Sencelles lies at the thinnest point of the planning and just 160 meters stands at its highest point and is surrounded by many villages that are not partially occupied. These witnesses are the days when there still viticulture and agriculture led to prosperity. Today, after phylloxera destroyed all over the island like the wine, there are again many Sencelles bodegas, where you can enjoy the rich red wine. Here one is far away from tourist castles or people who love the beach and sun. Sencelles is characterized by the Talayotic culture, which can be admired all around. The Pla (level) is in cycling and hikers.

History

The Talayotic era left its mark in Sencelles, the main one is the Son of Fred Talayot​​. Sencelles belonged to the community with Canarrossa. To 1238 belonged to the parish congregation Sencelles Costitx. Like so many people lived here from wine until the phylloxera destroyed everything.
