Santanyi

Santanyi is on the southeast coast of Mallorca and has about 11,000 inhabitants.
It is a beautiful scenic interesting area for hikers. Because of its 35 km of coastline was in the Santanyi '60ziger years of tourist attraction. Cala D'or, Cala Figuera and Porto Petro and the nature reserve Mondrago are now popular holiday destinations.
Agriculture still plays a major role. In the surrounding almond orchards dominate the picture. Famous Santanyi is visible through the reduction of the golden limestone, which dominates the skyline of the town. In the high season here is full of life, especially when market which is a popular destination for tourists. In winter, however, is Santanyi the rest yourself

History

Santanyí was mentioned in 1236 for the first time. 1300, King Jaume II Santanyi the municipal law. Just as the Romans and Arabs everywhere were represented, some place names reveal this era yet. Because of the many coves in the centuries Santanyi was repeatedly plagued by pirates. In '60ziger years, tourism came to Santanyi.
